Improper entry at the Curling Club

12/31/2007:

I forgot to mention this incident that occurred at one of the Curling Club buildings last night around 8:00pm.

Apparently, a man entered a woman’s apartment and ran when she saw him. Was her door unlocked and this was just a case of “wrong apartment,” or was it breaking and entering and attempted robbery?

Either way, the police were called and the woman was very shaken up by it.

I don’t give a crap where you live, it’s a stupid idea.
I’m still trying to fathom why someone would ever want to enter Kooky Kat’s apartment.
No kidding, easy. Do you trust every single resident in your building, their friends, delivery people, maintainence people etc etc etc?
Lock your door regardless of where you live.

There’s a very simple way to remedy this situation cheaphobo, lock your doors when you are home. This has happened to be twice now, the first time the door WAS locked and some drunken frat boy was trying to get in the wrong apartment banging on the door, etc. The second time was maybe 6-10 months ago and someone started to walk in and of course the dog went nuts, and they walked right back out. I called the building and asked if they could check the cameras (which naturally don’t point to my end of the hall – riiiight, I want to pay you 600k for this place – they probably don’t even work!!) and he basically said it was probably just someone who walked into the wrong apartment.

Since then, I always lock my door when I am home. It’s not worth it to possibly be someone who wants to cut me! I saw a 20/20 type show on something like this that happened to a family of 4, these 2 guys murdered the entire family, it was very scary to think they were just strolling along and decided to go into their home, knowing it was “open” as they prepared for a New Years Day party. I am from a small town, we never locked our doors, you’re not in Kansas anymore! Lock your doors!
