What restaurant at Sky Club?

Brasserie De Paris coming soon to Hoboken Skyclub

Okay, the “french restaurant” we mentioned late last year now has a name: Brasserie De Paris. No exact word on when they’ll be opening – but it looks like any week!

The new establishment will feature a “bar, lounge, brunch and dinner.”

Wonder how they’ll be accepted by the community?

French Restaurant coming to Sky Club

12/3/2013 Update:

Quick update. It seems as if a French Restaurant is coming next to the Sky Club. They held a private wine tasting recently to introduce themselves to their new neighbors. One reader said the name was going to be “La Brasserie” or something along those lines.

Do you think Hoboken is sophisticated enough for this type of establishment?

What restaurant at SkyClub would thrive?

10/18/2013 Update:

Well, after nearly a year after announcement, the anticipated House of ‘Que (from the Little Town NJ and Village Pourhouse crew) is NOT happening over at the Sky Club (700 First St.).

Regardless of the reasons why, a new group of restaurant investors is taking the plunge in this space. And more importantly – they’d like to know what the community would love to see.

One, what do you think would survive, and two – what would you LOVE to see in this space?

I don’t care what kind of restaurant, or what prices, I will throw money at them as soon as they open. I can’t wait for Spring time, and I can’t wait for the restaurant to open.

The new owners can instantly make a few hundred thousand by not opening up this place and prolonging the expected outcome of failure in 9-12 months.

Sounds hopeful. If they get it right, I’d give it a regular spot in the rotation.

Hoboken is certainly sophisticated enough for a French restaurant. The SkyClub, I believe is not. I hope they make it very casual. No matter what, I will try to support them, but I am afraid they will be swimming upstream. I wish them success.
BTW, Hoboken411, please interview them. I think we all would like more information and some background on the ownership and their rationale for French. It’s a gutsy call.
