Mayor Roberts is a Republican?

12/6/2007:

Hey, I always thought Mayor David Roberts was a Democrat!

But you can see that he donated $450 to Rudy Giuliani back in August of 2007.

Maybe they’re “good friends” or is there something else to this story?

Who said Guiliani is a Republican?

The only real Republican candidate is Ron Paul.
A few years ago I read an interesting paper that used NY state as an example. The NY state legislature has something around or above a 96% incumbent re-election rate.

You don’t get those numbers without rigging the game. Gerrymandering and the like are used effectively to hold seats.

Doesn’t that just prove that the two parties are so much the same that it’s time for a 3rd party to emerge- a reformer party – on a national level.

I mean, everyone is disgusted, no politicians are sticking to their political ideologies – must be time to start a third party.
In a similar fashion the laws are crafted to prevent lawyers not registered in a state from practicing laws in that state (this practice helps ensure business goes to resident attorneys) Political Parties have written laws making it very difficult for outside parties to gain a foothold.

And yeah it sucks.

I repeat what I’ve said before — Roberts, et. al. make me ashamed to be a Democrat (the way that Dubya, et. al. has made many of my GOP friends ashamed to be Republicans).
This confirms what I already knew, Mayor Roberts is a DINO (Democrat In Name Only).

Like Bush/Cheney and all other Neo cons:

1) He is pro-developer.
2) Can’t balance a budget.
3) Believes in no bid contracts.
4) Is secretive (fights FOIA requests).
5) Has tried to grab executive power (BOE, less councilmen/women).
6) Installs spy cameras, err, traffic cameras.
7) Doesn’t give a rats ass about Middle Class tax payers.
8) Is a slumlord (many of his properties are not exactly gems).
9) Goverment has gotten bigger but provides no more services.
10) And now Donates to Republicans.

Anybody else care to add to the list?
Add “rips off middle- and lower-income citizens to cater to upper-income citizens” and “disenfranchises minority voters who don’t support him and his cronies,” and you’ve hit a home run.

I suspect that a lot of the so-called “Democrats” in Hudson County are really Republicans at heart — and would be so in actual name if Hudson County had been historically Republican as opposed to Democratic. Look no further than the (deservedly) much-maligned-on-411 Gerry McCann, who cut HIS teeth by selling out JC for Ronnie Reagan’s pocket crumbs during the 80s.

I repeat what I’ve said before — Roberts, et. al. make me ashamed to be a Democrat (the way that Dubya, et. al. has made many of my GOP friends ashamed to be Republicans).
