Pistol Whipped

12/3/2007:

At around 2:05pm today, a man was mugged near 3nd and Harrison by a short black male, wearing black jeans, black hoodie and “Timberland” style boots. A silver gun was pointed at him and was asked to fork over his money. When he told the assailant he had none, he got whacked in the head and the actor took off towards the 2nd street Light Rail station. The victim was conscious and was bleeding from the head.

Witnesses say the suspect got on the light rail heading north towards Weehawken. Hoboken police have released the suspects description on the Special Emergency Network to notify other towns. Maybe they can catch him at the next stop?

Sounds like Path Train Teddy is getting desperate for donations:

if the guy got on the light rail, perhaps he only came to hoboken as a criminal commuter. to assume he came from our projects is rather premature – frequently our law enforcement community has mentioned people who used to take the “hochimin” trail down from jersey city heights and now take the light rail escalator to perform various criminal activities in our western neighborhoods. our affluence could conceivably make our community a definite target for visitors bent on criminal behavior. i hope the victim is alright and did not suffer any serious head trauma. scary. i lived through two house breakins, two car radio ripoffs and a vandalized windshield here in the last 25 years. hope we are not entering a new cycle of stupidity.
