Thanksgiving options in Hoboken

11/20/2007:

Here’s some info about city services and area transportation:

  • City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday (god knows they need a vacation!)
  • No parking enforcement for both Thursday & Friday (doesn’t mean you can block the crosswalk, though)
  • Trash pickup will not be disrupted.
  • The PATH will be on a Sunday schedule on Thursday, back to normal schedule on Friday.
  • The NY Waterway boat from Pier 11 in Manhattan to Hoboken 14th Street will add an extra early departure at 2:30pm Wendesday afternoon for all the financial folks. On Thursday, service from uptown Hoboken to 39th Street will use a Sunday schedule. All other routes are canceled. Back to normal on Friday.
  • Check with NJTransit for modified schedules

Most folks around here will be gathering somewhere this Thursday to stuff themselves with home-cooked Thanksgiving goodness. But what about the few people that have delayed plans till the weekend? Where will they eat?

We all know most Chinese places are open, Anthony David’s is doing catering, and Amanda’s has a Thanksgiving dinner (but they’re booked).

Anyone know of any other places that are open on Thursday?

I wouldn’t be surprised if you got a very decent turkey dinner with all the trimmings here. I’m sure unlike others they cook turkey all year long for their everyday menu.

I think Boston Market was good when they first opened. I think over the years they went downhill. I remember before I moved back into town. A friend of mine set me up on a blind date. He took me to dinner at Boston Market. A cockroach wanted to share our dinner with us. That was the first and last time. I dated that guy. It was also the last time. I went to Boston Market.

It might be kinda late for this but… A supermarket like King’s makes Thanksgiving dinners. For example, a dinner for 4-5 people, with six sides and 32 oz. of gravy costs $69.99:

Not sure if they would just make the turkey but if they did, then y’all could get one and just whip up some easy sides and still have an affordable meal!

Closest Boston Market:
there’s on on 23rd Street in NYC and in NJ one in North Arlington:491-493 Ridge Road, (201) 997-1006 and one in Fort Lee:1605 Lemoine Avenue

Best turkey I’ve ever found in that price range. The take home catering packages are great!
