Pier A Sex Offender – Homeless

10/11/2007:

So how exactly do you “register” a roaming homeless sex offender? I think beeping ID collars are necessary. Like maybe explode when he’s about to “offend”.

From Charles Hack, Jersey Journal:

Man with knife in park turns out to be sex offender

Police arrested an armed sex offender who was sleeping on a bench in Pier A Park early Tuesday morning, police reports said.

Erik A. Davis, 30, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, failure to appear for outstanding warrants out of Jersey City and failure to register as a sex offender, reports said.

Police found Davis lying on a bench shortly before 6 a.m., with an 8-inch knife under the bench, reports said. He told police that he sometimes stayed at a Hoboken shelter on Bloomfield Street, and if that was closed, then at Pier A Park, reports said.

Davis denied owning the knife, reports said. Police said they checked the National Crime Information Center and found that him to be a sex offender. When asked, he claimed that he was registered as a sex offender, police said. But after cops asked if he was registered in Hoboken, he changed his story, saying that he does not stay in Hoboken, reports said.

A lot easier to support the police if they work with the citizens for good instead of primarily hassling them. Much like every other department in this town.

I worked today outside for four hours..I saw…2 motorcycles this morning (Cops) one
at LUNCHTIME before 1 P.M. Two squad cars on two separate occasions this afternoon. I know their names and their relatives and felt safe, even in the daytime.
We need our police, I support them….especiially at night when they are needed the
most….

No I am still at 11th and Wash. I don’t work by DUNKIN DONUTS…that comment is
unnecessary and demeaning! I don’t know who you are but I do sign my own name,
that makes you a coward and me brave enough to deal with fools like you… 🙄
Margaret, of course you would. You were working outside of Dunkin Donuts.
I reported a broken window once at a building that’s been closed up. A Cop came and seemed so annoyed that I called, I couldn’t believe it. He asked me a lot of stupid questions with a ton of attitude.

Seriously, I don’t need that crap, I’m just looking out for the community. What a prick.

Yeah what an inconvenience, had to take 5 minutes out of his day to look inside a building to see if anyone is still in there.

I couldn’t agree more townie. I think they use their sirens to get to their personal breaks quicker or to let their “other than spouse” know to make room in their beds their coming in (no pun intented) lol.

The cops in this town are the laziest buch of hacks that I have ever seen. All of the Born and Raised cops turn a blind eye to this crap because they probably know some distant family member of the guy sleeping on the bench.

These fatass cops would rather give a Yuppie a ticket on St. Pats because they know it generates revenue, but the drunk pervert sleeping on a bench is not worth the time because it would generate extra paperwork.

The reason the union doesn’t have a contract – the police do not deserve it. The should all be forced to requalify.

Here is a little tip earn your fucking pay and clean up the parks. With all the sirens at 2:00 a.m. you had better be making a bunch of arrests.
