Former Mayor Cammarano out and about

Peter Cammarano enjoys Memorial Day weekend in Hoboken

Former Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano was spotted today uptown enjoying the holiday weekend with his daughter and lady friend Ariel (sp?)

After picking up two refreshing iced green teas at Starbucks, they headed over to Elysian Park for a kiddie party near the water fountains. A nice activity for a bright warm lazy Monday.

He seemed to be in great health and good spirits. Welcome back to Hoboken, Peter!

He served his time, and hopefully now he can make positive contributions to society. Good luck to him.

Are you kidding? He doesn’t deserve to live in Hoboken. He represents all that has been wrong with Hoboken politics for so long. And so many are so quick to forgive him. I say he deserve a scarlet letter – “C” for corrupt.
I wish him well also.
I agree with ABetter Hoboken. He’s a disgrace and a total fool- he was on track to have a sterling career – he didn’t need to be corrupt, but I guess greediness just can’t wait. He should go live someplace else.
Are you kidding? He doesn’t deserve to live in Hoboken. He represents all that has been wrong with Hoboken politics for so long. Well… we don’t really know he lives in Hoboken. Maybe it’s just visitation (or supervised visitation) for all we know. Nice to hear he’s out, especially for the sake of his little girl. “Nice to hear he’s out”….????….if you are a taxpayer, he stole from you, just a couple months into his tenure….to think how much he would have stolen over a four-year term is another story, because he obv. showed that he was just in the job for himself, and didn’t have any regard for the town’s 50,000 residents….sure the guy got a lenient sentence, and then paid that price, but he really shouldn’t show his face in this town ever again…a complete disgrace of a politician, another low-life who has contributed to giving all NJ politicians a bad name. get outta town Scammarano!
Well… we don’t really know he lives in Hoboken. Wow, banishment as a punishment, seriously your attitude is much worse than the crimes of Cammarano. Hoboken is one the best places to live because of its tolerance. Peter paid a heavy price, a lesson was taught. He must live with himself but has every right to live and prosper in Hoboken. America is about redemption. Reading your comments, hidden behind a false name makes me think you are a cowardly and mean spirited person.

I really want to know what it is in your psyche that drives you to post a comment like this on this website. You must be bitter and lonely. Do you have friends or just people that bear with you. One bedroom, rent controlled and an old computer is how I envision your life. Miserable is how I would describe your personality. And if reading this make your heart beat with anger imagine how your words hurt another fellow human being. There is a brotherhood of men, and forgiveness and love are what must guide our lives. Go out and enjoy the day its beautiful out there.
Terrific reply there John. Did you actually read the bull you wrote before hitting the reply button? You brag of a town of tolerance, then go on and on attempting to ridicule a poster as being old, bitter, lonely. and rent controlled (whatever the hell that last jab was supposed to mean). Guess you were going for substidized. Great goin’ Sigmund. Guess you left your tolerance on Kitty Kat Drive before you flocked here.
Wow, banishment as a punishment, seriously your attitude is much worse than the crimes of Cammarano. The last I heard, this low life basturd (Dwek) was brought up on other charges in Deal Beach and he was disowned by his father and community members. Don’t know if he was arraigned or jailed
whine guess its all about entitlement…as well as this site a vehicle for self proclaimed interlects who are quik to judge another…many found tha tweek f stole 50 mill and is a religious man did i say rat skates ? peter not the only one set up in the hcdo and christie had a plan..hudson county is dem country..btw is tweekey still a free man? how does one compare 50,mill compared to 20kk…stealing is stealing but 50 million and a rat skates?
Hey John, yeah thanks for the pop-therapy, where you simultaneously lobbed multiple personal insults, while then talking about “forgiveness and love” a sentence later. Hypocritical, to say the least, you don’t have any facts on me to make those silly judgments On the contrary, the public has enough facts on Cammarano to know that he blatantly stole from Hoboken. (and, knowing how quickly into his tenure he became a criminal, I think it’s safe to say he would have stolen upwards of hundreds of thousands of dollars, if his reign continued as planned.)

So, for the record, I never used the word “banishment” – your word, not mine – but, yes, I did opine that he has some major stones choosing to walk around this town, after what he did to all of its honest and hardworking residents. I’m very surprised by that – there’s plenty of other places he can go, to move on with his life and to easily earn your pollyannish forgiveness.

Good post whine and dine – I’d guess you’re neither related to Cammarano nor have taken any illegal checks in your time, probably unlike someone else here.

But remember Austin, unlike you, I DID welcome him back home, and I DO believe in second chances after falling from grace. And I think the best place is to come home and not run from your mistakes. I only responded to JohnCarani because of his hypocrisy. And you are correct, I am not a relative of Cammarano or taken illegal checks.
Hey John, yeah thanks for the pop-therapy, where you simultaneously lobbed multiple personal insults, while then talking about “forgiveness and love” a sentence later. Interesting viewpoint, whine, that you think this is the best place for him. And I would even agree with you, if you mentioned that he is doing some good for Hoboken right now, to earn redemption for his past transgressions. Whether that be working for a local non-profit, or volunteering his time for organizations that could use some help, you get the idea.

If just “doing the time” is good enough for some people here, there’s a hundred other places where he can go to move on with his life, IMO. But what is he doing good for Hoboken, to earn back the respect of the public?

Very naive IMO to just say “welcome back.” Just remember – he didn’t give a crap about you, and, seeing his selfishness, so he probably wouldn’t be so forgiving, if the tables were turned.
But remember Austin, unlike you, I DID welcome him back home, and I DO believe in second chances after falling from grace. I’m Not naive Austin, it happen to be my opinion. Get over your condescending tone thinking it proves you right and me wrong. You’ve stated your opinion as I did mine. He’s served his time and doesn’t owe this town a god damned thing by law except the taxes on his property if he continues to live here. His penalty for past transgressions was his doing time for them, and it doesn’t include community service at any level to satisfy those who feel it wasn’t enough. We’ve both stated our opinions Austin, and like you, I’ll stand by mine. Time to let it go Austin.
Interesting viewpoint, whine, that you think this is the best place for him. John-
AustinPowers was a little harsh but his comments have merit IMO. If Cammarano doesn’t feel ashamed, he has no morals. As another commenter pointed out, he was an election lawyer. Somehow he “forgot” to file his ELEC reports until a couple days before the election (someone had to drive them down to Trenton). Conveniently, they were just late enough that they couldn’t be posted online prior to voting. Then the bribes.
The man is entitled to live here in peace (not sure why someone was following him for this story), but he broke the law and public trust. He has work to do to earn back that trust and eventually work off that sense of shame. Having two young daughters myself, I would think that looking them in the eye to explain this stuff was harder than any jail time. Peter is a nice guy who got caught playing the same game most of the county does.
This does NOT excuse his behavior, but the fact is there are MANY in this city and county who did the same thing who have never been brought to justice.

One other thing – for those who say “he served his time” – he’s was a lawyer, specializing in ethics. No one knows better about what the law is – yet he knowingly and arrogantly chose a corrupt path. There is no excusing this piece of garbage.
