Former Mayor Cammarano out and about

Peter Cammarano enjoys Memorial Day weekend in Hoboken
Former Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano was spotted today uptown enjoying the holiday weekend with his daughter and lady friend Ariel (sp?)
After picking up two refreshing iced green teas at Starbucks, they headed over to Elysian Park for a kiddie party near the water fountains. A nice activity for a bright warm lazy Monday.
He seemed to be in great health and good spirits. Welcome back to Hoboken, Peter!

The last I heard, this low life basturd (Dwek) was brought up on other charges in Deal Beach and he was disowned by his father and community members. Don’t know if he was arraigned or jailed

Hey John, yeah thanks for the pop-therapy, where you simultaneously lobbed multiple personal insults, while then talking about “forgiveness and love” a sentence later. Hypocritical, to say the least, you don’t have any facts on me to make those silly judgments On the contrary, the public has enough facts on Cammarano to know that he blatantly stole from Hoboken. (and, knowing how quickly into his tenure he became a criminal, I think it’s safe to say he would have stolen upwards of hundreds of thousands of dollars, if his reign continued as planned.)
So, for the record, I never used the word “banishment” – your word, not mine – but, yes, I did opine that he has some major stones choosing to walk around this town, after what he did to all of its honest and hardworking residents. I’m very surprised by that – there’s plenty of other places he can go, to move on with his life and to easily earn your pollyannish forgiveness.
Good post whine and dine – I’d guess you’re neither related to Cammarano nor have taken any illegal checks in your time, probably unlike someone else here.

But remember Austin, unlike you, I DID welcome him back home, and I DO believe in second chances after falling from grace. And I think the best place is to come home and not run from your mistakes. I only responded to JohnCarani because of his hypocrisy. And you are correct, I am not a relative of Cammarano or taken illegal checks.

Interesting viewpoint, whine, that you think this is the best place for him. And I would even agree with you, if you mentioned that he is doing some good for Hoboken right now, to earn redemption for his past transgressions. Whether that be working for a local non-profit, or volunteering his time for organizations that could use some help, you get the idea.
If just “doing the time” is good enough for some people here, there’s a hundred other places where he can go to move on with his life, IMO. But what is he doing good for Hoboken, to earn back the respect of the public?
Very naive IMO to just say “welcome back.” Just remember – he didn’t give a crap about you, and, seeing his selfishness, so he probably wouldn’t be so forgiving, if the tables were turned.

John-
AustinPowers was a little harsh but his comments have merit IMO. If Cammarano doesn’t feel ashamed, he has no morals. As another commenter pointed out, he was an election lawyer. Somehow he “forgot” to file his ELEC reports until a couple days before the election (someone had to drive them down to Trenton). Conveniently, they were just late enough that they couldn’t be posted online prior to voting. Then the bribes.
The man is entitled to live here in peace (not sure why someone was following him for this story), but he broke the law and public trust. He has work to do to earn back that trust and eventually work off that sense of shame. Having two young daughters myself, I would think that looking them in the eye to explain this stuff was harder than any jail time.

I’m Not naive Austin, it happen to be my opinion. Get over your condescending tone thinking it proves you right and me wrong. You’ve stated your opinion as I did mine. He’s served his time and doesn’t owe this town a god damned thing by law except the taxes on his property if he continues to live here. His penalty for past transgressions was his doing time for them, and it doesn’t include community service at any level to satisfy those who feel it wasn’t enough. We’ve both stated our opinions Austin, and like you, I’ll stand by mine. Time to let it go Austin.
