Hoboken vandalism victim: Thank you anonymous witness!

Hoboken411 reader Shannon was one of four car owners victimized by senseless acts of vandalism over the weekend. While the damage was unnecessary, she was more uplifted by the good people living in our community.

“On Saturday morning I got in my car and noticed a plastic baggy on my front windshield with a note in it. I got out of the car an opened it to find two notes. The first from an anonymous person who witnessed my car being vandalized at 3:45 AM (see below). The second note came from the police department who had already filed a police report. I went to the Steven’s Police who were very on top of things. They had already spoke with the “people” who committed the act and the guilty planned on paying for the damage. There were four cars on 5th and Hudson that all had damage to their passenger side mirrors.

The purpose of this email isn’t to announce to the Hoboken community who committed the crime but to THANK the anonymous witness. This is the reason I love being a Hoboken resident. The fact that this person saw this act and took the time to write a note and even put it in a plastic bag so the rain wouldn’t ruin it says a lot about this community. THANK YOU!!

Also a big thanks to the Steven’s Police Department who acted quickly and did their job.”

Compensate each victim for their time lost too! Now each one will have to either take off from work, or spend a Saturday at the auto body place. Such a hassle!

Saw a few broken mirrors on my way to the train this morning. Thought things were supposed to be getting better?

Why wouldn’t we want to know who did it?
