Color Bomb Photo Exhibit by Mark Elliott

There is no doubt that a fairly decent number of Hoboken residents will be looking for activities OUTSIDE of town this coming Saturday. Avoiding the riff-raff associated with the unpredictable Hoboken LepreCon is high on the list for many folks I spoke with.

Here’s one option that might interest the art and photography lovers in town…

Meet Hoboken Photographer Mark Elliott in Jersey City

Hoboken Photographer Mark Elliot currently has solo exhibition running over in Jersey City at Made with Love Bakery (MAP) – and the official reception is this Saturday, March 3rd from 7pm to 9pm.

Mark is a 2nd generation, self-taught photographer who said he “shapes his images around repeating elemental patters, textures and tones.”

“My compositions provide unity, structure and order out of the mundane, overlooked and underfoot. Working in vivid colors, black and white, and only using natural light, I strive to capture moments that present the viewer with a slightly different take on the world.”

He grew up with photography his whole life, but said that his passion actually took off about 10 years ago with the introduction of advanced digital cameras – which allowed his “creativity to grow.”

A Hoboken resident for over a decade, Mark has participated in many Hoboken Arts & Music Festivals as well as walking artists studio tours – selling many of his original mile square themed images.

This is his second show at Made With Love, and appreciates owner Celeste Governate’s ongoing love for local art, adding “This particular exhibit deals with deep, warm and luscious colors to get leave every one anticipating spring and represent locations visited and photographed in 2011-2012 that range from Vegas, Tuscany, England, NYC & New Jersey and are making their very first appearance in print at this event.”
