3 days to pay a Hoboken parking ticket?

A ticket-typo? Or another way to steal from Hoboken residents?

If you take a look at the Found Hoboken Parking Tickets section here on Hoboken411, you’ll see that a typical parking ticket gets around 3-4 weeks from the date issued, to the date it needs to be paid.

Maybe the city is now super-desperate for your money, or is trying to cash in before the end of the year – but I spotted a bunch of tickets yesterday with only a 3-day grace period? Including this car, which was barely an inch over the line by the corner – who will now have to shell out $54.00 the day before Xmas Eve – or get punished with an added $10.00 late penalty (or is it $20 now?)

Something isn’t right about this – maybe Fox 5 or WPIX should come back to town?

Speaking of investigations – I’ve been hearing rumblings that Parking Czar Ian Sacs got some lavish presents from Hertz on Demand.

In regard to the summons dated three days to pay ,best to go to the HPU office and present the incompentence of the PO agent and not setting up her his computer in the proper way…It’s 14 days grace..to pay the summons..Proof is what they are hiring with no training and no sense of responsibility…I got one with one day to pay..Merry christmas gang best is yet to come.

On the First Day of Christmas Hoboken gave to me, 1 Parking Ticket, 2 Tire Boots, 3 Days to Pay, 4hrs. to Park, 5 GOLDEN SCREWS………6 useless city employes, 7 broken meters, 8 FBI agents, 9 water main breaks….and a 10 year prison sentence.

hpd is suppose to turn in their summons at least two days later..shame on who ever.best bet is to call hpd bfi dept or a supervisor and find out why it wasn’t turned in

I had the opposite experience recently; I couldn’t pay it. I got a parking ticket that was written by a police officer, not the ticket writers on the street. I tried to pay on-line but the system wouldn’t let me. I stopped in to city hall to pay but got the answer, “The officer didn’t turn in his book yet so you can’t pay.” I then called parking authority every day for over two weeks questioning if/when I can get this out of my hands. After 2+ weeks of trying to pay it every day I was able to get an employee to tell me I can have them enter it manually. This was never mentioned to me till after 2+ weeks of calling. When I did stop at city hall to have them enter it manually the woman behind the window was not happy she had to do it.

City hall needs to get their act together. They are not prepared to handle this new ticket blitz.

Don’t blame me, I voted for Artie.

drool…Thats what the violations dept are there for..It’s a shame you upset the grouch. If it’s a card board summons issued by hpd just address a desk officer at PD. Get a name. The HPU is electronicly sent to city hall and trenton…No excuse why it can’t be paid the next day..[quote comment=”212987″]I had the opposite experience recently; I couldn’t pay it. I have had the same thing happen to me but no one mentioned the manual ticket entry. So of course I forget about the ticket until I get a summons in the mail that it is late and I owe more money.
