7/10/2007 Update:

Since I started this thread, I feel I should probably pay respects to the person that suffered through this.

The victim was Michael Silver, a real estate agent at River Street Realty, and who had an office at the Hoboken Business Center.

It really is sad when someone’s life is so difficult for them that they choose to end it. May he rest in peace.

Was apparently a suicide, which is why the homicide investigators were called in. Sorry for the incomplete info, just reporting what was heard over the airwaves. They went mum afterward.

8:26am:
Strange event heard over the live police scanner in the last 20 minutes or so. Here’s a quick recap as I have to leave for a bit.

First called in as a “cardiac arrest” at 1140 Garden, and that “medical was giving CPR instructions” to the caller.

A couple minutes later, it was announced by the dispatcher that it was a “suicide attempt” and that a male had a gun to his head, and that the responding officers had to “proceed with caution”.

It seems to have turned out that someone had been shot and it sounded like a roommate did it? Not sure who the parties were, and what the circumstances were, but it is being ruled as a homicide by the officers on scene.

More if I can find out the details when I get back.
