After a few hours of boozing on the rooftop at City Bistro, it seemed apparent that a quick stop at Onieals would be in order.

Lo behold there was exactly one spot left outside. Lucky us.

The inside of the bar was bustling as always with an electric crowd and a good sense of energy. Pretty standard at Onieals.

We were a bit in a hurry (it seemed rain was on it’s way) so we placed our orders without hesitation. Pasta Picante and Cajun Grilled Chicken Sandwich.

The pasta dish had a delicious tomato tang. The chicken and cheese was loaded to perfection. Our reviewer thought the pasta was a bit too stiff for her taste (what woman ever says that?) But the other tasters enjoyed it immensely and would recommend it to anyone.

The Cajun chicken sandwich was another story. While it arrived to the table with great promise, it left the table un-eaten and filled with boo’s. Something was wrong with this particular batch. Had a medicinal taste or some kind of industrial cleaning agent (not that we know what industrial cleaning agent tastes like, but we can always guess). It got sent to the bench, perhaps to play a few games in Double-A ball to get it’s game back on track. Nice try Mr. Cajun.

We always enjoy Onieals. The burgers (which are banned till August) are always reliable, and the staff is most often accomodating and timely.
