Hoboken Police & Fire Blotter: 7/29/2011

Hoboken crime and fire action: July 29, 2011

Crimes, Incidents, Fire Calls & Vehicular mishaps

  • 3:05am (7/31/2011): Boyfriend assaults girlfriend
NYPD called HPD to say that a street assault occurred at 11th & Washington between a boyfriend & girlfriend – but now the so-called “couple” is near 9th and Garden. They stayed together that long? Amazing!
  • 3:00am (7/31/2011): First Street Fun!
First Street in Hoboken is a bunch of fun for Hoboken Police (said in a “joking tone of voice…”) All night (and most weekend nights) they have their hands full – but as the bars close – you get more fights (minor and major), city ordinances (urinating usually), some arrests, suspicious males, and so on… 411 Note: No matter what the political puppet says (i.e., that’s the “mayor” in case you’re confused) – there is very little you can do to control a large mass of people who involve themselves with alcohol consumption. Just research prohibition to find out more about what happens…
  • 10:45pm: Still Alarm of Fire
Reports of a “still alarm of fire” at 38 Jackson Street (in the area of the old My-T-Fine building). HFD en route.
10:55pm Update: “Paper on fire on the roof of 610 Newark St. Extinguished via water canister. HFD returning to service.”
  • 7:50pm: Car stolen from Uptown Parking Garage
Reports that a two-tone (black & orange) pickup truck with no plates smashed through the gates of the Park on Park Garage on 15th Street. Boy, that garage has no luck! Some car destroyed the gate there just four months ago!
  • 7:30pm: Summer shower causes usual problems
A steady rainfall for 15 minutes created the typical set of issues in town.. with false fire alarms, minor flooding and more. A resident also reported that the sewer plate on Willow Ave. became dislodged due to the weather. The Pre-Cog was right!

More updates to come!
