Ravinder’s Day Spa?

What’s up with Ravinder’s Day Spa?

Hmm. The other day, the long-time day spa known as Ravinder’s was papered up.

They had a “stop work” notice on the window. That happens when work is either done illegally, or in violation of some kind of building code.

Who knows what they were doing or why. No word about closure on their website or garbage social pages. No one answered the phone when we called.

Online reviews of the place were always spotty, despite being “voted” best day spa by some organization. Most customers cited marginal service at high prices.

Today, most day spas are only for people with tons of extra discretionary income to spend. Although I know people who do indulge when part of an all-inclusive vacation or comped casino perk. Are local day spas over?

My boyfriend bought me a gift certificate to Ravinder’s Day Spa for a photofacial for Christmas. I went and loved the treatment I got from that first visit. I ended up buying a package of photofacials, which was a pretty decent expense, but thought it would help clearing up some of my skin issues. The package was buy 6 get one free, so combined with the gift certificate it’s 8 treatments total. About a month ago I went for my appt and the owner said I had no appt and was not scheduled for an appt. I showed her the card she had written on to give me my appt, she was shocked and still denied I had scheduled an appt for that time/date. Somehow, she said, my name had gotten erased from the schedule, but she had not erased it. She showed me the eraser marks and claimed not to have erased it at all. Instead, she tried blaming me for calling up and canceling my appt earlier in the week. Someone at the spa obviously erased it, I don’t know who, but it was irritating that she was trying to blame the whole thing on me. I rescheduled my appt and went back the next week for my facial. A few weeks ago, the Friday before Mother’s Day, I had another appt at the spa. I arrived about 10 minutes early; there didn’t appear to be anyone else that was waiting so I figured the owner was just… Read more »

I have friends who’ve experienced Ravinder and can confirm: she’s a huge flake. Always missing appointments, haggling over money, telling the customer she’s wrong. Who needs that? When in doubt, go to NYC where at least there is a bit of competency. [quote comment=”192710″]My boyfriend bought me a gift certificate to Ravinder’s Day Spa for a photofacial for Christmas. I had a horrific experience with them, particularly with an employee who had no idea how to use and remove wax. I will never go there again.

I am honestly a bit taken aback at my bikini waxing experience. She was polite, but not remotely personable. It was not a professional job whatsoever. She did a very sloppy and uneven job and I have never bruised so much before – even compared to the first time I got a bikini wax. I really felt I could have done a comparable or even a better job myself.

This was my first experience at Ravinder’s, so I have no knowledge of any of their other services, but based on this experience I would not go back or recommend it to anyone.

I can honestly say that this woman changed my life for the better. My visit was so horrible that I realized I wanted to be an esthetician in order to provide the exact opposite of what she has to offer, which is not much at all…I understand that some people love her and I think that’s great! You SHOULD love your esthetician! She was horrible…and she called the cops because I told a woman outside her spa to save her money and not go in. In her favor I will say that my friend had a massage and loved it! lol The cops showing up kinda ruined the experience though…go figure. Thank you Ravinder for inspiring me to be the woman and esthetician you’re not!

Oh, my God. Can you be a bigger douchebucket? Why doesn’t your *ballsy* self go ahead and tell us what business you operate so that I can never go there for your services?

Actually, save your breath. I’ll just keep going to Ravinder’s. I think that the owner and staff is very kind, polite, talented and graceful. In fact, one of them boosted my confidence. So go bite something.

My Fiance surpirsed me with a morning at the spa for me and my sister. It was amazing. the service was perfect, they even opened the spa early for us so we would be the only people there. He had pre-arranged mimosas and bellinis, garden of eden fruit (it was amazing), and special services. The ladies there were awesome so nice and sweet but not fake. They did anything I wanted… It was like Royal treatment. As far as the actual treatments their hands were magical and the facial was so good i still don’t need any makeup 3 days later!! It didn’t make me break out like other facials i’ve had in the past. The massage was awesome full body intense and so rejuvenating. I strongly suggest trying it out.
