Hoboken Police & Fire Blotter: 7/27/2011
Hoboken crime and fire action: July 27, 2011
An ongoing list of various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls throughout the day for Wednesday, July 27, 2011. This post may be updated and “bumped” periodically.
- 12:10am (7/28/2011): Another store burglary
The business at 200 Park Ave. (Park Fashion Cleaners) was burglarized tonight. HPD arrived to find the door was forced open, and the cash register was supposedly stripped of it’s contents. This continues the trend of businesses being robbed of their petty cash supply this month (La Bella Vista Pizza – and La Bouche Cafe). This has to be a local thief!
- 8:00pm: Poop-Altercation
At 4th & Hudson (outside the St. Peter & Paul Church) there was an altercation involving a woman inside, as a person walking a dog in front. The dog apparently did it’s business, and that led to an assault. One female arrested. What would God say about that?
- 7:45pm: KNIFE CHASE!
Reports that a male with a knife was chasing a female inside 655 6th Street. HPD was told to exercise caution, and EMS was staging a block away in case they were required! I bet it was something on Facebook which caused this!
Update: The female is handicapped (mute).
Update 2: The female that reported it to a neighbor (who phone PD) was handicapped. Apparently involved some kind of sexual assault somewhere else in the building. The suspect is a tall black male with dreadlocks.
- 7:00pm: Purple shirt-wearing drunk
Residents reported a “highly intoxicated man wearing a purple shirt” sitting on the stoop of Three A’s bar at 5th & Grand. Hoboken EMS requested.Guess he’ll be easy to find!
