Hoboken Bus takes residential parking

Hardly used Hoboken Hop Bus parks in residential spot

I was approached by a Hoboken411 reader on the sidewalk and they wanted to point out this Hoboken Hop Bus, which was taking up a residential parking spot.

“It’s bad enough the city is losing money on this shuttle no one uses, but what a slap in the face to also take a spot on the street when parking is already at a minimum?”

Just because you don’t use the bus doesn’t mean no one else does. I always see passengers on the hop.

They have to park that thing somewhere. I’d much prefer this than having it be parked illegally on some street corner blocking a sidewalk or a view of traffic.

I can’t tell from the picture but if it was parked on the “visitors” side of the street (white sign) then they’re technically not doing anything wrong. Anybody can park on that side for up to 4 hours….but that’s for another thread

Slap in the face? That is a bit much. I am left to assume this resident uses his or her car (they is grammatically incorrect) to drive 3 blocks and double parks. Hoboken is already human scale and needs less parking, not more. I would like to see entire halves of streets made no-parking.

There’s been a commercial dumpster truck parked in a resident spot on Garden St. for weeks–HPU issued it a resident parking sticker.
