7th & Willow still under water and 7th is closed between Willow & Park. This corner is always as bad as the rest but gets over looked b/c there is no “new development”. Another example of how poor the infrastructure is overall, not only due to all the condos being built (all though they’re not helping).
100+ year old drainage systems just can’t get the job done. So who to vote for next month???? Any candidates come with an engineering degree or a family sewer business?

I just walked past 7th and Willow a little while ago and it is indeed closed. There is a barricade up and what appeared to be a PSE&G guy standing around. Also, it smells LOVELY.

I am sure it closed, however it was not during the day. People were free to drive thru the flood.

had it rained an additional day like this, I officially believe this could have been the next New Orleans disaster as someone mentioned on another thread.

Try to get Homeowners Insurance after this if you live in Hoboken. I wonder if your car insurance will cover this or they consider this an “Act of God” and will deny all claims.

Even though my specific area wasn’t affected, this is why my flood insurance is more than my home owners insurance! Can we try to elect people to the City Council this year who will have the intelligence and the integrity to actually upgrade the infrastructure to keep up with the (over) development???

Wouldn’t the comprehensive portion of an auto policy cover this kind of thing?
Either way, driving through all that water will have its toll on countless brake systems. I can’t believe all the people driving around on Sunday despite many days warning that this could happen. For a lot of them, I guess it was a lesson they needed to learn.
But it looks like I outsmarted myself. My car remains unscathed but it seems I trashed my Rebel XT while taking pictures on Sunday (despite precautions).

Yes, a comprehensive insurance policy should cover flood damage to a car => northjersey.com/page.php?qstr=eXJpc…TMxJnlyaXJ5N2Y3MTdmN3ZxZWVFRXl5Mw==

The picture at 931 Madison is of Water Music, which this year got approvals for a 16-story building. You think you’ve got problems now…
