Hoboken crime and fire action: April 7, 2011

An ongoing list of various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls for Thursday, April 7, 2011. This post may be updated and “bumped” periodically throughout the day.

  • 11:55pm: Assault at 610 Newark
HPD received a call that a person was assaulted in their apartment at 610 Newark on the 9th floor.
  • 11:45pm: Woman “feels ill” at McDonalds
Hoboken EMS en route to McDonald’s at 3rd & Washington for a “55 year old woman feeling ill.” What do they put in that slop?
  • 7:30pm: Nothing to see here!
People noticed “Thicker than usual black smoke” coming from the Neumann Leather smoke stack. Again, no big deal – that happens when you don’t use the heat for a while.
  • 6:40pm: False alarm fire / taxpayer waste
HFD received a call of a “still alarm of fire on the 2nd floor of 230 Bloomfield.” But nothing was found. The call came from 911. What a waste.

More updates to come…

Talk about violent crime…we’ve got a stabbing at 3rd and sinatra around 2am, victim has “three slashes across his chest” – 134 and ALS helped him out – actor is a heavyset hispanic male with a ponytail and checkered shirt.
