What is this dangerously parked car?

3/25/2011:

Oh no! Call the Hopboken authorities! Rush to fix this!

Earlier this morning, I spotted this illegally parked car near the intersection of 11th & Hudson Streets.

My God, I thought – this is a dangerous situation! Why isn’t someone from City Hall RUSHING to move this precariously parked vehicle? “In the name of pedestrian and child safety?” WHAT DO WE DO?

Oh – wait, it’s a Hertz on Demand Connect Corner Car – forget about it. They have special privileges!

Some idiot probably parked in the Hertz spot, forcing the Hertz Connect driver to park outside the designated space when he arrived back in the area. Am I the only one that can figure this out, or will every opportunity be taken to take a cheap shot at this beneficial and innovative program?

The point isn’t whether the program is beneficial and innovative. The point is that the driver recklessly parked the car illegally, creating a dangerous situation for pedestrians and other drivers. Even if someone took the Hertz spot, that doesn’t give this driver the right to leave his/her car anywhere he/she feels like it, even if it’s illegal and creating a potential hazardous situation. Find a real space, then call the police and tell them a car is illegally in the Hertz spot and needs to be towed. Renting a Hertz car does not give the renter license to break the law.[quote comment=”204929″]Some idiot probably parked in the Hertz spot, forcing the Hertz Connect driver to park outside the designated space when he arrived back in the area.
