Mari’s Hair Salon – Gone
Mari’s Hair Salon vacated Hoboken
You’re not seeing double. Another business gone, Mari’s Hair Salon. (Next door to also doomed Crepes & Things…)
But we knew the place was for rent back in the summer, so this is no shocker. The landlord probably got a higher paying tenant (which, they technically have every right to do what the market responds to). Probably what knocked the crepe place out too. Mo-Money!
We’ll find out what will fill the spot soon enough.
But just wait till my “haircut helmet” invention comes out. That’ll cause all hair salons to quiver.
Mari’s Salon for rent
Boy the hits keep dropping on “Wash” recently. At this rate, we’ll be a “mile square strip mall” before the end of 2015!
Mari’s Salon in apparently on it’s last legs, as the store is blatantly “for rent.” Our guess is the landlord wanted to raise the rents (considering the proximity to the supposed “PATH money train.”)
But perhaps this is a bad move by the landlord. Taking away a useful community service only to replace it with some (God knows) type operation. What is the long term prognosis of that?

Mari’s Salon was previously called J&V Salon. “New Name, Same Management…”
Stop the presses! A new hair salon opened this past Monday. It took the place of the old “In Touch Wireless” (see what it was before below).
“J&V” stands for Jose and Vladimir, the owners. They’re bringing their business from North Bergen, NJ.
As usual, they encountered the same Hoboken headaches with permits and other nuisances that delayed their opening by more than four months. Now they’re waiting on the permit for the sign. What does the HATT say?
Soon to become “J&V Hair Salon”. Hoboken is very hairy.

Now, it seems like they're "in touch" with the empty feeling. Not sure what the deal is yet, but it's completely cleaned out. I guess the other T-Mobile place just a few stores down had something to do with it.
