Hoboken police and fire blotter: 1/13/2011

Hoboken crime and fire action: January 13, 2011

Hoboken411 will keep a “running tab” of various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls throughout the day today. This post will be updated and “bumped” periodically.

  • 9:40pm: Painful Flight of Stairs
Hoboken Volunteer EMS dispatched to Dino & Harry’s Restaurant (14th & Garden) – “Party fell down a flight of stairs.” Now, that is not pleasant!
  • 4:45pm: Odor of Gas at 606 Adams Street
HFD responded for an “odor of gas” near 606 – 608 Adams Street. They evacuated and searched several buildings – reported high concentration of natural gas (over 500-1000ppm) on several floors. After extensive searching, PSE&G reported it may actually be a primary gas main leak that supplies residents.
  • 2:20pm: Fire Call 510 Jackson Street
HFD responded to a call for alarms activated at 510 Jackson Street. Upon arrival they found no fire, but instead a broken pull station. They put the alarm in silence mode. However, a fire truck struck a vehicle on 6th Street (probably parked illegally.)
  • 1:30pm: Pedestrian struck by auto
A 2008 grey Toyota Camry out of Jersey City struck a pedestrian at 2nd and River Street. Injuries don’t sound good, Hoboken Police told EMS to “step it up,” which usually means the victim isn’t doing too well.

More updates to come throughout the day!
