HPU snags handicapped parking

8/31/2010:

Municipal Garage debacle continues

As you very well know – the botched job at the Municipal Garage in Hoboken not only interfered with a local business – it also left city vehicles scattered throughout uptown.

Now, a Hoboken411 reader discovers that the Hoboken Parking Utility trucks are parked illegally in handicapped spots at Garage B on 2nd Street!

“What is the duty of the “parking utility” department?

Here are photos of five illegally parked vehicles belonging to The Hoboken Parking Utility Department. These vehicles are blocking Reserved Handicap parking spots.

The beauty of this entire episode is now the PA employees will probably be more than unhappy w/ the cops. Hopefully that means all the illegally parked cop cars and personal vehicles will start getting tickets too. And with luck that will snowball into tickets for city hall workers and FD personnel. We could be looking at a windfall of parking ticket revenue for the city and I think it is fantastic. Ticket, tow & boot them all.

You should be able to hear my laughter roght now for hundred of miles. So let me get this straight, the Parking Authority employees that are responsible for parking tickets, booting and towing had their vehicles ticketed and towed for Illegal parking in Handicapped Spots?

Even better there is community service penalty of 90 Days for this offense!

Prohibit parking motor vehicles in handicapped
spaces without a special vehicle identification
card; mandate initial and subsequent fines of
$250 each and up to 90 days of community
services (C.39:4-197.(3)c).

I hope the Judge throws the book at the whole Lot!

Trying to read between the lines… Of course, they should not be parked in these spots, but no Director(s) were available? 🙄

Another stunning example of idiots at work. You can’t make this stuff up. The fish stinks from the head.
