Hoboken Flood Advisory

7/13/2010:

Wet but warm!

The National Weather Service has an active flood advisory until 2:30pm. I got stuck in it a little while ago (soaked to the bone). I’m sure areas in the 4th ward and near Shoprite are already pooling up. Another blast might come within the next hour or so.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THAT HEAVY RAIN WAS FAST APPROACHING THE ADVISORY AREA. ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE… WITH SOME LOCALLY HEAVIER AMOUNTS IN THE NEXT FEW HOURS.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF URBAN AREAS… HIGHWAYS… STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.
