Traffic snarling sofa in Hoboken!

5/14/2010:

Eyesore of a sofa disrupts traffic downtown

Hoboken411 reader Hadar noticed this nutty sofa for sale at the Frayed Knot oddity consignment store downtown recently.

“On more than one occasion, this outrageously ridiculous sofa sitting in front of that weird shop downtown has disrupted drivers, nearly causing an accident!

I wonder who had that sofa, and better yet, who might want it?”

I am not lying, I bought this couch the day I moved to Hoboken on May 1st. I heard the couch was starting traffic, so I rode my bike down there the next morning on Sunday the 2nd and had a bidding war with another person. Its not sitting in my apartment and is the most uncomfortable couch ever! The seat cushion is stuffed with old waterproof patio furniture cushions. It is definitely our conversation started when we have parties. Go ahead and make fun!

No doubt 70’s era Puerto Rican sofa….the crown is a dead giveaway being most PR’s think they are kings! No way it’s a Goomba sofa, being there isn’t a 1/2 inch of plastic wrap around it. 😆

Could be a Jewish couch…they like fountains and gold packages on cars!
No doubt 70’s era Puerto Rican sofa….the crown is a dead giveaway being most PR’s think they are kings! No way it’s a Goomba sofa, being there isn’t a 1/2 inch of plastic wrap around it.
Sorry to all interested, I just bought it. Was only $2,000. It kind of smells though, but they threw in a free frogurt.

This thing is early goomba the only thing missing are the plastic slipcovers, my mother in law had a couch of the same color and maybe even the same valour material.

The couch is very cool. Vintage is in these days and i know the frayed knot has good prices. Sort of looks like something Versace would design, and yes Versace made couches back in the 40’s-60’s. I went to FK once and a walk through the shop is totally fun and some really neat stuff inside 🙄
