Asleep on taxpayer funded jobs?

2/3/2010:

One Hoboken411 reader sent in a photo of what they thought to be a Hoboken municipal worker sleeping on the job. While it’s entirely possible that this person may have been sick, or have a valid reason for having his head on the steering wheel (such as “his shift starts at 8am”), they still wanted to show the rest of you…

You snooze you win?

“I took these photos this morning (Mon, Feb 1) at 7:50AM on the corner of 13th and Jefferson. Please do not post my info on your web-site. I’m tired of our tax dollars being wasted.”

What do you think of this? Is this “barking up the wrong tree” when the $100M dollar budget is wasting a whole lot more of your tax dollars?

Just wondering how many of you are posting comments here on company time during the day? Not making excuses for the guy—but it’s very hypocritical for those who are, and would like to see his removal.

that picture is awesome. Irregardless of why he has head on wheel, that picture should be up for a pulitzer award. However, he can be like Mr. Kurta, self proclaimed retired professional student since 1991 and handed a job tonight till 2014 for donating 1000, probably his savings to Mayor Zimmer. The machine keeps rolling, only the parts have been changed.

I’m willing to give this guy the benefit of the doubt here…granted the pic don’t look good but maybe he was sick and cames into work anyway or was on break.

Not to mention the fact that those Cushmans give off a town of Carbon Monoxide fumes and no matter what you do your exposed to that shit which does make you ill, tired, and can kill you just as quick.

I do see those guys in the scooters working all day, unlike the can men that hide and fuck off for 7 hours a day.

This picture doesn’t bother me, only because there is a halfway decent chance that he’s on a break, hasn’t started his shift yet, isn’t feeling well, etc.

There’s plenty in town that DID/DOES bother me – people like Corea and the golf course, the former B of E employee on call for air conditioning repair, paid leave for Andriani, city employees with shore houses who still live in below-market-value apartments, medical insurance double dippers, etc. etc.

hah The Board of Education… what a joke. Ever try going there? They supposedly work until 4pm, but if you get there at 3pm and ring the bell, nobody answers the door.
