Hoboken Photo of the Day – 12/29/2009
Spotted this pickup truck on 11th and Garden this afternoon. It’s apparent the driver of this vehicle had enough of the “politically correct” nonsense that has infected our society (sort of like that ridiculous “holiday tree lighting” at City Hall) to warrant placement of this gigantic sticker.
I wonder if he’s a member of the NRA?
PS – if you have images collecting dust on your camera or hard drive – send them in for eventual inclusion on Hoboken411! Please state how you’d like to be credited in your email, and a description – if desired!!

Wasn’t a crack, guys. I echo the sentiments of the bumper sticker, and am a member of the NRA too. Honest question!

My husband and I grew up with the guy who owns this truck. I lived down the street from him for like … 12 years. He’s one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.

Agreed. Also a top drawer contractor.
I don’t want to make a federal case out of this but the NRA crack comes off as something like asking a person driving a hybrid car if they are wearing Birkenstocks, taking macrame or a Lamaze class.
BTW – La Pieta is an interesting choice of graphic. Merry Christmas!

I am so sick of “Happy Holidays!” and “the holiday” etc. Someone should start a boycott of all stores that refuse to use the word “Christmas” like certain stores with inane advertising for “the holiday”. People aren’t buying “holiday’ presents in those stores, they’re buying “Christmas” presents.
That said, the bumper sticker designer needs to change the graphic to something a tad Christmassy.

This seems a little off base. Perhaps he should look inward to his own ilk for a means to return Christmas’ meaning. It is one thing to attack a pluralistic secular society and another to fix your own affairs.
The fake happiness that fades right about now and the hyper commercialism of this season should probably be his target.
I would prefer people just say nothing, I don’t want to hear about your Christ and I assume you don’t want to hear about my Simchat Torah.

Really? Someone saying “Happy Holidays” to you really chaps your ass? How about someone saying “Have a good day”? Does that annoy you too?
It doesn’t annoy me to have someone say “Merry Christmas” nor “Happy Holidays”… I just say “thanks”, which is what a civilized person says when someone goes even slightly out of their way to say something nice to them.
Anyone who disagrees is an unbelievable loser in my mind…

Awesome sticker. I had to go to the neighboring towns to see the word Christmas used in a card. It’s like a near complete extermination of the word. Denial is a powerful force as many faithful of various religions already know Mr. Ntableman.
