A holiday collection of useful and interesting information from Hoboken and beyond… and kudos to the Hoboken Fire Department for knocking out a dangerous wall fire this morning at 262 First Street!

126 bus on Holiday Schedule

Those going to work today via bus – be advised that the NJ Transit 126 bus is on Holiday Schedule.

We don’t need rain, do we?

With mounds of snow still blocking catch basins all across town, it’s helpful to know that a moderate amount of rain is predicted for Friday night into Saturday. While only about an inch of rain is expected – the snow melt will amplify the amount of water.

Also – if traveling north or west – be advised there’s potential for some hazardous ice conditions!

Much of Hoboken starts shutting down…

As is expected, most Hoboken businesses will be closed for Christmas, many shutting down early today as well (like my damn laundromat, shops, etc.)

But Turning Point said they’re open regular hours today and Stacks Pancake House is even open on Christmas Day!

Of course, many liquor stores will be open for those that run out or forgot the necessary Christmas elixirs!

Oh boy, the Healthcare bill…

It seems the majority of American people do NOT want this ridiculous “healthcare” bill that congress is rushing through during the holiday season the Senate passed this morning. More government control we do not need.

Last week, Glenn Beck asked a few very simple questions – that our politicians cannot answer directly and simply – and which is why the 2500-page bill is so complicated, and who it benefits?

What is happening to our country? Why?

For those that are leaving / have left town – enjoy the second busiest travel time of the year!
