Coffee Mug Cakes!
12/5/2009:
Did you know that Hoboken resident Chelsea Dodd recently published a fun cookbook called Coffee Mug Cakes?
Quick Cakes without the Fuss!
“I recently published a cookbook containing cake recipes that can me made in a microwave. I never seem to have time to bake and try to avoid having an entire cake in my home. I imagine it’s the same for any busy professional in Hoboken. And for us foodies, we need a quick sweet every now and again.
Based on my research, no one else has published a cookbook like this. My site also offers the suggested size coffee mug, apron and bib for anyone to create a themed gift.
The CMC Cookbook details 26 recipes with a variety of cake flavors, including hazelnut raspberry, red velvet, chocolate banana walnut and ginger. The cookbook makes a great gift for any foodie in your life. The CMC Cookbook can be purchased in print for $19.97 or downloaded for $9.97.

I would ask Frozen Monkey if they would sell it for you? Everything they make is in a microwave and delish!!! As for me and using a microwave, I can’t get a Ramen right

Chelsea: if you’re reading this, you’d be wise to properly shrink down the images on your website. Most are much larger than they appear in the page, which means wasted bandwidth.
The anglefood.gif thumbnail on the front page alone is nearly a megabyte in size, which isn’t much for a fast cable/FiOS connection, but I could tell the web server was struggling to send it out (it took nearly 10 seconds to load). As a rule of thumb, all photos would be best saved as JPG files.

I don’t know…I love the Frozen Monkey but the most horrible cupcake I ever had was from there. The thing was incredibly stale and the frosting was like eating confectioners’ sugar right out of the bag.
It is better to take a loss on a cupcake by tossing it instead of selling stale ones to customers. It’s going to take me a long time to go back. And yes, one bad cupcake is enough to send me elsewhere in a town with many other choices.

The advertise a cupcake with Magnolia’s recipe. I had one Saturday. Sweets is way better.
Next time I’m at FM I’ll stick to the butternut soup and sandwich combo.

I second your decision. Not a big fan of their recipe or Magnolia’s, really…
I don’t think that anyone can top Sweet’s peanut butter frosting!

I know Chelsea and she is a really sweet girl. I haven’t had one of her coffee mug cakes yet, but I have tasted food she made and it was definitely delicious! I intend to get this for my secret santa at work, such a great idea!
