Hoboken Photo of the Day – 12/2/2009

Noticed this the other day – a beautiful clear fall day in fact – that every single lamp at Elysian Park was on for the entire day. Sure, it may not be a diner full of money, but still a fairly good example of irresponsible city waste.

I noticed the same thing in PIer A park the other day. Every light was on in the day time.

too much trouble to turn them off, of course. just like its too much trouble to fix the time on the clock in front of city hall.

That light is controlled by a photocell, and when a photocell fails the light stays on.
