Readerpix: Drunks hate trees!

11/11/2009:

Hoboken411 reader Nick noticed some innocent trees along the waterfront that were harmed this past weekend – most likely by drunk buffoons. Did anyone witness it?

Beer muscles & trees don’t mix

“On my way to club H this past weekend, I saw several trees with branches torn off and one tree broken in half. These were small trees on the sidewalk in front of the melting pot, the office building, club H etc… the entire length of the block. I was going to take pics of them when I came out but someone had already removed the broken tree and cleaned up the broken off branches.

The attached pics show the cone where the tree was broken in half and killed and the other shots show where the branches were torn off of two trees. Very likely the work of some drunken a-hole’s. I hope there are cameras there so the culprit can be found.

It’s a give & take relationship. Hoboken loves drunks, drunks hate trees. What are you going to do?

Actually, drunks hate garbage cans and toilets too, but that’s an entirely different animal.

Several places on Hudson uptown near the bank on 14th have branches ripped off. One by 54 11th Street on the sidestreet
across from the shipyard was so bad it was taken out.
These were just planted this year, and this is sad..really sad.

I wish I could catch whoever is doing this and sign a complaint.
I have been out at odd times of the evening and haven’t seen anybody doing this horror…

usually its people trying to climb up the tree that snaps the limbs.. moronic either way you look at it. hoboken has 100+ police officers yet i barely notice their presence in the bar neighborhoods on the busy nights out!?

UGH. I just wanna let these drunk d-bags know that if I catch them in this act ever, I’m gonna make them eat the pieces they rip off.

Hey, stick to what you know. Like vomiting and urinating and voicing nonsense in public from Thursday-Sunday.

It really is sad that people get entertainment out of things like this. I was talking to someone as they were taking away a tree outside my place and they said it happens all the time.
