Apprehension on Washington – and parking complaint
A Hoboken411 reader caught yesterday’s mysterious “men in suits arresting people” incident on Washington Street.
“2 guys in suits arrest a black male in front of 316 washington st. Authorities car was nj plate. Perhaps local county. They had suspects identification in hand, it was a nys drivers license. No hpd cars involved. Lady to right bitching she can’t get out because of the cop car. Only in Hoboken!”
Funny that the lady didn’t give 2 cents about whether a possibly dangerous individual was plucked from the streets, no – she just wanted to move her damn car! Ungrateful!

Why does it look in the picture like the law enforecement car is double parked in the opposite direction of the parked cars? Did the person who saw report seeing any badges flashed or mention of why the suspect was being taken into custody?

“You can run but you can’t hide”… FBI…this was probably a county warrant arrest. Moving to state business…the local Hob. Reporter Al Sullivan said that our new Governor may appoint US Atty. Ralph Marra as state attorney general….He has roots in Hudson County, is a Democrat and back in the 80’s he procecuted former Newark Mayor Kenneth Gibson. Recently, he’s the guy who headed the arrest of the 44 in the latest corruption probe….”You can run but you can’t hide”!

Like Antinucci said, looks to be HPD (they have a few of those Malibus and it isn’t hard to note the unmarkeds in a mile square town). Could be something as minor as failure to appear, misdemeanor warrant…not always a conspiracy theory.
Ask any public safety personnel what they think of the average citizen’s situational awareness. I remember being on a felony car stop with multiple officers (think COPS: guns out, driver ordered to exit the car, etc.), and have someone pull up and ask for directions. Another time me and a coworker were hunkered down behind a lady’s stoop because her neighbor was holed up with a rifle (we had helmets on, shotguns out), and the homeowner comes out with a cup of coffee and asks if anything is going on…

There was also a marked HPD car that cut the van off so they couldn’t trun down 4th street, while the Malibu blocked them at Washington (that is why they were doubleparked in the wrond direction), so it was definitely either led by or in conjunction with the HPD. Still curious what it was, but seemed to be a great effort!
