iPod Thievery

ipod1.jpg

Today around 7pm in the area of 369 First St., a woman had her iPod snatched from her hand by two teenagers, one on a bike, the other on foot.

This serves as a reminder, that even though you may be in the town you live and close to home, your belongings are not always safe. Especially when you're handling something that is very popular and in demand.

People should pay attention more!

Well we hope they catch these kids, as the woman sounded distraught. Maybe these kids come from Jersey City?

Wow, I’ve really had my head up my ass. Been trying to start my own buisness, I’m lucky if I leave the house during the day.

The curfew started close to a month ago.

Labby, it’s Jersey city Heights up there. Union is surrounding it.

I was not implying that we should put up a wall. This is America and one of our freedoms is being able to go wherever we want whenver we want. When was there a curfew for teenagers inacted?

I’d like to see the coke heads go also. they’re usually the fight starters.

The solution for Hoboken’s crime is further rousting of the criminals from town. I believe the HHA has served eviction notices to those with criminal records and the warrant and drug task forces have been arresting as many as they can. This ofcource only occurs after that young man was murdered in the projects and the gun battle a few months ago. The FBI also has rid us of some of the “Characters” and their element. The new curfew for the teenagers will help to deter their late night criminal activities. Removing the criminals will have more of an impact than putting up a wall since most of the serious crimes murders, robberies and burglaries have been caused by residents and not outsiders.

If the Mayor and the Hoboken Police department live up to their promise of community policing (walking the beat instead of sitting at the path station people watching for Osama Bin Laden) which they promised in a nice shiny flyer during the election we will see even more arrests.

I for one hope they arrest a few more yuppie pot smokers and dope fiends as well as go after the morning dog walkers who do not pick up their pets waste. A few of those mommas who jay walk their strollers infront of buses need to spend a night in jail for child abuse too.

Hoboken is no longer a criminal utopia as it once was but we still have a ways to go.
