Mason was a management consultant for TWA (major airline) and MCI. Also, she was the President of a company in NYC that she started with another person (which is no longer in existance).

Really? When? What did she do at TWA? Did she work for a consulting firm that had a contract with TWA? What was her title? How about MCI? When was the last time she even held a job?

She’s still not providing the details we would expect from a normal resume. This really smells… she needs to provide a normal level of detail otherwise this is going to become an issue for her.

Has she embellished her background? Is she lying about her background? Get in front of this Beth or it’s going to blow up on you!

Did she work for those 2 firms before they filed for bankruptcy? And is her company no longer in existence b/c it filed for bankruptcy? o – I don’t expect an answer FROM HER, to tell you the truth I only point stuff like that out as possible reasons why she wouldn’t be interested in putting any details in her bio. Most management consultants I know actually will tell you exactly what they did (company, scope of the engagement, etc…), just very curious that Beth doesn’t when she “touts” her experience.

Anyway, her bio really doesn’t bother me, it is the fact that she ducks talking about the issues even when asked during an interview.

Hoboken practices power politics and this is not a surprise. Alliances form are are dissolved at will. Look at Richardson/Clinton; Powell/Bush; Codey/Booker. So, local Beth/Jake/Zimmer et al switching is just normal. The real decision for the voters is who will make the most visible difference in leading the city out of State supervision, really attending to the budget, ending the errors such as the Obs. Hwy Garage and SWAT team fiascos (still pending for years); the Hospital situation, which is operating at a big loss. Should it be one of the incumbent councilmembers seeking to be the Mayor or one of the other candidates. This is up to the voters to decide.

Sorry, but either Mason relies too much on the guidance of her ‘people’ or her own judgment sucks– neither bode well for this town should she become mayor.

One would assume a period of introspection would have followed her distant third place finish the first time, and with humility ask herself ‘what did I do wrong?’. I guess not- because she’s running the same kind of campaign all over again, as though all it takes is a lot of money and slick marketing to influence the voters here. It shows how far removed, how insulated she is from the struggles of average folks in town, who don’t rally give a rat’s ass about Dual Job Dawn, but are more worried about their own jobs, affording their rents or mortgages, flooding, and the next tax hike.

Oh, well.

We get it. Beth Mason is rich. Now stop having trees chopped down to mass mail attack ads.

The truth is that only Glatt, Raia (business success) and now Brinkman have any sort of Resume. Wilson is still a student, but we should learn more about him in the next four weeks. The question is do we like what we have in the current bunch or do we want someone new?
