Baseball Playoffs Set!
Field of 8 vie for coveted trophy
I knew something could have been possible when I said the Twins might surge! Amazing one-game playoff last night between Minnesota and the (FAIL) Detroit Tigers – and now the playoff field is set.
Can you predict who will win each of the four series?

The “Fall Classic” is getting closer!
With about two weeks left in the MLB season – and unless some kind of implosion happens, the following eight teams will be in the playoffs in October:
AL: NY Yankess, Boston Red Sox, LA Angels, Detroit Tigers (or maybe the Twins if they surge…)
NL: Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, LA Dodgers, Colorado Rockies
Can the Yankees hang on?
Out of the likely playoff contenders – the three that have the biggest fan base of course, are the Yankees, Phillies and Red Sox. Regular readers know that I’m a huge Yankees fan – and frankly – after their amazing mid-summer surge – I’m getting a bit nervous about whether they can hang on to 1st place and best AL record.
The Yankees have 12 games left – with SIX of them against tough opponents (three away at LA, then three at home against Boston)… We all know they’re making the post-season, and the one thing going for them is that they have the next two Thursday’s off (barring any rain-outs) – while Boston has to play 14 consecutive games. Other than the three against NY – the rest are relatively easy teams (KC, TOR, CLE).
Will New York hang on to the top spot?
The Yankees final position will be:
- AL East Champs - Best Overall AL Record (69%, 101 Votes)
- Wild Card Suckers! (19%, 28 Votes)
- AL East Champs - LA has the best record (12%, 18 Votes)
