Zimmer Photoshops

9/4/2009:

Oh boy – it didn’t take long before Photoshops of temporary Mayor Dawn Zimmer started rolling in…

Confused and on crutches

Hoboken411 reader Jim sent these in to me yesterday…

“Hey 411 – I wasn’t a fan of Peter Cammarano, and didn’t have the opportunity to submit any of the great photoshops you posted while he was on his way out. But during Zimmer’s short term as acting Mayor, I’ve come to realize that this woman is in no way, shape or form Mayoral material for our city.

This on the job training is unacceptable, and even insulting when she demands qualified candidates for open positions at city hall. So I was inspired by your Oscar photos last week, and prepared similar photoshops for what myself and most of my friends are in agreement with. Can’t wait till November. Hopefully one halfway qualified person runs, because that’s who we’ll be voting for!

Enjoy, and keep up the great work!

Jim”

JJB, I agree and am chill. I am am not angry or political, and I honestly don’t find any mayoral candidate all that appealing. My point is and remains, sometimes a stolen bike is just a stolen bike. Let it be.

Maybe once a year I get a Sam Adams Cherry Wheat jones, and nothing else will do. Same with Woodpecker Cider. How’s that for a straight line.

You guys need to chill out. Politics is so polarizing and so many of you are so angry. Here’s the deal-eo no one cares or voted for anyone because there bike was stolen. I totally didn’t even know it got stolen.

Theres too much hate and not enough love. Everyone try a Sam Adams Cherry Wheat and chill out yo!

In all due respect, it also seems that anti-Zimmer factions are the ones giving these stories “legs”. If anything I feel she is more seen as a victim of being ambushed in a petty way with insinuation.

plywood, I don’t put anything past her and her braintrust of well practiced manipulators. Remember she also claimed her bike was stolen during the campaign and received a ton of sympathy. Funny how she didn’t learn her lesson about getting a real bike lock that would actually protect her bike “worth several hundred dollars.”

There’s a reason why food delivery guys ride junky bikes but carry a big chain to lock them — because they don’t want them stolen!

Don’t forget Zimmer played the sympathy game in 2007 when she claimed her headquarters banner was sliced by politically motivated thugs. It’s beginning to sound like she is crying wolf.

RH: what you say is possible I guess but this seems to be scraping the bottom of the attack barrel and I don’t think people get votes in Hoboken because people “feel sorry” for them. If she is so reproachable there must be better ammo than these often mentioned bike and banner incidents. There is no point in reporting such incidents to the police either. Nothing will happen except you will be out 45 minutes of your life. If someone has the goods on someone, that is a different story.

I don’t think getting a bike stolen is going to garner much sympathy. I mean, this is an already wealthy woman making $100K+. I save my sympathy for people with terminal diseases, dire financial circumstances, job loss, etc. This is how the story went down in my house: “Did you hear that Zimmer got her bike stolen?” “Yeah. Wow. So what’s for dinner?” And this is from people who, while not Zimmerists, have supported her in the past. If getting a bike stolen is supposed to be a political move, it is a pretty lame one. The sliced banner is another story altogether. There were a lot of weird circumstances going on at the time, including that intimidation effort when Zimmer was walking her dog. Connecting the stolen bike and the sliced banner is really pushing it. In response to Red Haven who said: plywood, I don’t put anything past her and her braintrust of well practiced manipulators. Do YOU believe this is a political stunt? How many votes for Zimmer do you think this will yield?
