I read the reviews on Kannekt for Sushi House of Hoboken, and it was “Editor’s Pick”. I wish I had read this forum instead. Thank you labica for pointing out the sushi sham. I think I’ll report them to consumer department. I tried to eat in Hoboken as much as I can, instead of NYC, since this is my town. But they serve fake, mislabeled fish. That is fraud. If they want to serve cheap fish, then charge cheap prices. I ordered off their “Winter Special” menu, thinking it will be in season fresh seafood. A lot of their rolls had “crab meat”. THEY WERE ALL IMITATION CRAB, and cost 14+ per roll, with only 5 slices each. So between my husband and I we spent $80 on mediocre rolls with fake fish meat in them. just for reference, imitation crab costs $4 for 3 pounds worth. What was really annoying was that on Kannekt there were a ton of raving reviews about the FOOD! When I posted a bad review, it never got posted. Something is really fishy with Kannekt. I would not trust that website anymore. I don’t want to slam local establishments, but I can’t stand by when they’re defrauding their customers. I have to admit, the service was good. But I would never go somewhere with bad food. [quote comment=”24761″]First of all I am a professional executive chef (CIA Grad)in Manhattan who does over $150k in business per week. Asuka opened on 11th and Washington. I tired this place just once. I loved the rolls and tried Salmon Teriyaki, the fish was awesome. The food was great better than roobangi except the owner was trying to be extra friendly, which got to a point where we almost felt like we were having dinner with him

Sushi Lounge also has great cooked dishes. That rock shrimp appetizer is delicious. I could use some right now…

Although I hear great rumors on Robangi sushi being “the best” in Hoboken. Sushi Lounge still has great sushi. I can’t believe in all the years that place has been there it still stands strong and has 2 new locations, one in Morristown and the newest in Totowa. They surely are preparing mystical sushi quite right.

Sushi lounge is good and consistant. I haven’t been to Robangi. I was recently at a party where there was a party tray from Sushi House, and it was just awful, very little fish and the rolls just fell apart when we picked them up. I won’t even say what they paid for it. Thank god there was a few trays of Joeys BBQ!
