Citywide Reading Day – May 9th
From the Hoboken Board of Education:
“The Hoboken High School is planning a city wide reading day on Saturday, May 9, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will have read aloud events as well as writing, theatre, and other literacy activities for all ages in several classrooms at Hoboken High School. Please mark your calendar to attend. You will enjoy a rich variety of stories.
Do you have a favorite book to share? In addition to participants, we are also looking for readers. Please consider selecting a 15-minute reading from your favorite book to read to children or adolescents.
Do you wonder how to interest your children in reading? We will also have parent/family workshops to share ideas and strategies that encourage literacy in and around the home. We want to help create life-long readers.
Looking to build your home library? We have invited the Friends of the Hoboken Library to hold a gently-used book sale in our cafeteria. Prices will be gentle, too!”
