Unhappy with Hoboken coffee…

With Hoboken411 being online for over three years – my inbox often sees email from all over the world!

This particular message comes to you from Ralph in Florida – who was disgusted with a coffee company that’s located in town…

Not the “Aroma” I was looking for

“Hoboken is as American as the Empire state Bldg and as American as apple pie.

Hoboken is from here to there as far as you can travel in a lifetime. The whole world knows Hoboken. But when I typed in “Aroma Coffee Roasters” I had no idea that I would come here. I have to tell you, I went to a Dollar General store here in Florida for coffee my local Publix market had sold out of their Colombia coffee so since Dollar General was almost across the street I went there and bought a two lb can of your Arabica coffee.

I can’t figure out how some of the coffee roasters here in the USA can destroy roasted coffee. If Hoboken sold their reputation to the world based on this coffee you would not be famous but rather infamous. You are not the only ones to ruin a good cup of coffee, there are many others. Maybe my taste buds are not conditioned for your coffee. What ever it is I just thought that I would tell you I am going to fertilize my roses with your coffee mostly because it smells more like manure than coffee. Thanks I just had to get this off my chest.

Ralph”

I’d imagine Hoboken’s “reputation to the world based on coffee” would be Maxwell House…

Speaking of iced-coffee, I had a SPECTACULAR French vanilla, iced-soy latte at Empire this weekend. Got my husband into the stuff, too, and he doesn’t even drink coffee!

Yum. Just thinking about the drink is making my day. A wonderful and tasty privilege it was!
Kobricks is really good. I also like Porto Rico on Bleecker in the West Village.

Incidentally, I noticed the Kobrick’s truck outside Crumbs this morning. They were stocking the store. So excited they’ll have good coffee!
Springtime, thank you very much. I will stop by Kobrick’s. Thanks to Johnny B for the suggestion.

I never understood how people in hotter climates could drink hot coffee. Being from Texas myself, I could only do ice coffee with temps in excess of 80º F. That said, how can you live in Florida, where most of the year is hot, and drink coffee from a $1 store? I mean, hot coffee in hot weather…

“This coffee tastes like sheet”

“That is sheet”

(heard it in a movie once)
