Striking new terminal set to open 3/18/2009

“The first Billybey/NY Waterway ferry passengers arrive at the architecturally striking new World Financial Center Ferry Terminal, Wednesday, 6am, Hudson River at the foot of Vesey Street.

The terminal, on a 28,160-square foot barge, was built by the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and will be operated by Billybey Ferry Company which partners with NY Waterway to operate several routes between New Jersey and Lower Manhattan. This is one of the busiest passenger ferry terminals in the nation and a critical transportation link for Lower Manhattan.

Starting at 6:08 a.m., ferries will be arriving every 5 – 10 minutes, discharging passengers from Weehawken, Hoboken, Jersey City and Yonkers.”

Great, thanks. Given that I haven’t used that ferry terminal in about 3 years (minimum) I couldn’t remember what the cross street was.

AWESOME!!

Dumb Q- how does this compare in location to the temporary ferry terminal that was there for years? Did it replace it or is it north or south of it?
