Have a plush garden at your home? Want to spice it up with some creative lighting? Then head over to the Hoboken Historical Museum (13th and Hudson) tomorrow night at 7:00pm!

Hoboken Garden Club talks about garden lighting

On Tuesday, February 17, 2009 the Hoboken Garden Club (HGC) in partnership with the Hoboken Historical Museum will present a talk “Lighting Your Garden” by New York Lighting Designers Caleb McKenzie and Addison Kelly at the Museum’s conference room at the corner of 12th Street and Shipyard Lane (behind Starbuck’s) in Hoboken. Admission is free for members of the Garden Club and the Museum and $5 for non-members. The meeting will begin at 7PM with refreshments and the talk will start at 7:30PM.

Caleb Mckenzie is internationally recognized for innovative lighting solutions for a variety of commercial and residential projects throughout the US, Europe and South America. Mr. McKenzie’s designs have been installed in projects such as the Galleries Lafayette in Paris, France, ‘green’ projects with the Audubon Society and Starwood Hotels in the Bahamas, the Almazar Shopping Plaza in Marakesh and residential private gardens in New York and Hoboken.

Addison Kelly, founder and principal of US Lighting Consultants in New York City, designs projects for hotels, office buildings, shopping centers and theaters around the world and the US. Recent projects include the Feheheel Waterfront Development Zone in Kuwait and the Artists for Humanity Epicenter in South Boston which was awarded LEED Platinum certification by the US Green Building Council.

The Club will present the third talk of the season: Plants for Water Gardens on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 in Hoboken at the Hoboken Historical Museum.

Other HGC activities planned for 2009 include a field trip to three specialty garden centers in New Jersey, spring and fall plant swaps, participation in the Hoboken Arts & Music Fair and the Hoboken Historical Museum’s fundraiser The Secret Garden Tour on May 31, 2009.
