Ha. I lived a block off Greenmount Ave in Baltimore for 3 years. That is a war zone. Crackish wonderland, too. The sidewalks are crunchy with empty vials. Good times.

This is why I live in Hoboken. When I was going to college in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn you heard that crap ALL the time.

There were a couple weekends I remember that sounded like a freaking war was going on. Funny how it never ends up on the news.

I get a kick out of the hipster kids who think they’re hardcore because they live in Brooklyn now after 20 years of gentrification.

I just hope it isn’t a sign of things to come as things get worse.

i don’t know, this is the problem with the internet i think… people hide behind their computers, under the guise of, “this is what i heard”…but when you report something as SERIOUS as GUN SHOTS being fired – considering that normal, non-thuggish, non-government supported people like myself live in that general area, i believe you have an obligation to follow up on the veracity of the story. everyone and their brother has an opinion these days, which is why asinine blogs like the dailykos exist where people uninformed about history, political science, and the law cast judgments on a second-by-second basis that ultimately just prove to be a lot of whining and hot air.
if you’re gonna report f’n gun shots, you have to follow up. no hiding behind the computer screen in the dark apartment with the empty pizza box nearby.

Holy crap i totally heard those gunshots, they were for real on Grand St. After hearing them we looked at eachother and said, “No, it couldnt be” and kept right along, but it definitely was.
