Hoboken Photos of the Day – 1/7/2009
I frequent Cornerstone Pets (9th btw. Wash and Bloom) often to pick up supplies and treats for the Hoboken411 Mascot Oscar. I’m sure if you’re a pet owner, there’s a good chance you’ve seen how much stuff they’ve been able to organize and pack into such a small space! Amazing, eh? If you haven’t been there – you ought to check it out… Incredible retail display skills they have!

PS – if you have images collecting dust on your camera or hard drive – send them in for eventual inclusion on Hoboken411! Please state how you’d like to be credited in your email, and a description – if desired!!

Cornerstone is a great store! The staff is very knowledgable and helpful– they’re great with nutrition and feeding issues. My dog’s coat looks great with his new food!

I don’t know whether this belongs here or in the new “Business suggestion box”, but Cornerstone pets: the sidewalk is already narrow enough at the corner of 9th and Washington. It would be very much appreciated if you didn’t always stick your massive sign there, further reducing the dearth of space.

Hobojoe: I could only whish that we had a massive sign. As signs go down Washington Street it’s pretty much on the smaller side, about 2-1/2′ by 3′ or something like that but then you have the sign holder with those bulky feet. At any rate, I hear what you are saying and respect your opinion. We always try to keep the sign on 9th, and never put the sign out on Washington Street. We keep it as close to the fence there as possible because I know exactly what you are saying. Sometimes, after two or three realtor signs go up along with ours it makes for a tight corner. I tried asking the building there if we could put a sign up on the wall but no go. I adjust the sign during the day to keep it as out of the way as possible and I hope that helps. I need a new sign anyway and will try to find someting more compact. Thanks, again – and we do apologize for the inconvenience. Jeff/Cornerstone Pets

I go out of my way to buy anything dog-related from Cornerstone. Perfect example of a great, local small business. Jeff & the rest of his staff are incredibly knowledgeable, have competitive prices, don’t nickel & dime you, honor the 10% discount from Hoboken Dogs Association — much, much better than going to a giant Super Mega Pet Store.

I agree. Beowoff is great too. I rotate because I like them both so much — and so they don’t realize how much i spoil the little monster.

Jeff’s place is one of the best I’ve been in. He packs in a huge assortment of items into a small space. His staff is the best and always willing to share w/ greedy little dogs who live across the street.
If my pup ever got loose I know where I’d find him– begging for treats @ Cornerstone Pets.

I rotate between Beowoof and Cornerstone myself. There’s alot more dog stuff out there then cat stuff. I would love to have a dog. It would be unfair for me to have a dog. I work all day. I work sometimes evenings and weekends. I run a petsitting business along with my regular job. The dog would be alone alot. I have a cat. I don’t think he cares if I’m there or not. I wish Cornerstone would go back to carrying journals for petsitters. They were great. There was one for catsitting. There was one for dogsitting.
