New Year’s Eve 2008/2009
The same ritual every single year: What are your New Year’s Eve plans?
Will there be fireworks?
The big question this year – will the famous Bloomfield Street Fireworks come back? Or is the city still “clamping down” on the festive annual tradition that took place for 30 years? I’ve been asking around – and people seem to be a bit mum about it – which makes me wonder if they’re secretly going to bring it back… Anyone know?
Where will you “ring in” the new year?
Each year, you essentially have the same options. A good chunk of the bars & restaurants in Hoboken have some kind of “Open Bar” event. Pay a modest fee (between $75-$100) and get a few hours of unlimited drinks, some light fare, noise-makers, a DJ of some kind, etc. I believe it’s pointless to go through the whole list of options – because 99% of you probably already know what you’re doing. But in case you want an idea – take a look at this previous entry – most options remain the same (or similar).
But quite a few people I’ve spoken with are “laying low” this year – without the obligatory “I have to do…” feeling. What about you?
