You know what I finally did today?
Slept. Slept all day! While it was nice to supposedly “catch up” with all the sleep I’ve missed lately, sigh, it wasn’t a restful sleep (damn you holiday parties!) Anyway…
Hoboken411 reader Brooklyn Bridget sent in this picture taken in Hoboken. Do you know where it is?
Hoboken411 reader photo of the day – 12/20/2008

[Stay tuned for tomorrow's Readerpix entry! - Note: one reader's photo(s) will be featured each day at approximately 11am. Unless your photo is time-sensitive - it will be published in the order it was received! Additional note: Your pictures will have a better chance of being published if they're in "landscape" mode, as opposed to the taller "portrait" modes... ]

Sigh – got it on the first try. What gave it away? The cobblestone? It’s near a bar you like?

A friend of mine who is a photograher took me on a tour of Court Street and showed me all the unique textures that were there. This double door is prominent in the memory bank.

Nice pic. Do any film buffs out there know if this is the area where part of On the Waterfront was filmed? The part where Brando and the girl are being chased by the car after they find his brother dead? I always thought it was but never knew for sure. Again, nice photo.

Yes, that scene was shot on Court St. The Hoboken Historical Society had a show about the movie a few years ago, and there was some handout with all of the locations used for the film.

The door is on court between 1st and 2nd. The On the Waterfront scenes are on court between Newark and Observer behind where the old Fabian Theatre was (now CVS and NYSC).
