Hoboken Photos of the Day - 11/19/2008
With the over 100,000 photos I’ve taken - I have a strange curiosity about shoes, sneakers and boots that are just left on the sidewalk - almost every day I see a pair or two.
This particular picture I found even more strange. A pair of boots and a frying pan! How did this collection of stuff on Hudson Street end up together? What would be a good caption?
PS - if you have images collecting dust on your camera or hard drive - send them in for eventual inclusion on Hoboken411! Please state how you’d like to be credited in your email, and a description - if desired!!

Only Yankees fans will get this, but WTF?
“Freddy Sez: I’ve gone to knock some boots.”

LOL, 9!
Hey, 411. So glad you’ve captured these items!
Shoes leave me in wondering mode, too. Especially when, em, I see one floating beside a duck in the Hudson river at night…

“Some prospector went panning for gold but found only gold diggers.”
or…
“Hoboken finance guy got the boot (twice) and is now taking up pan handling.”
(ok it’s late and I’m tired)

Dusty had looked forward to sizzling bear steaks - the bear had other ideas.

I think I have a good idea where these items came from.
The homeless man who resides in the 7th and Washington area (mostly on my front step) collects anything and everything from the Salvation Army/Garbage etc and wears and leaves them anywhere.
I know because in the past year I have tripped over similiar items

For the Dallas Cowboys fans out there:
Up until his recent reinstatement in the NFL, Pacman Jones had to find other means of survival.

So, because you see a pair of boots, you think Dallas Cowboys. But the problem is, that those aren’t Justin boots. And if they aren’t Justin, then you might as well buy them off Canal Street. And while you’re at it, why don’t you eat some salsa made in New Jersey.
Can’t return as a fan til Jerry Jones is no longer owner. My wish is that somehow, one day Jimmy Johnson can buy the team - very wishful - and stuff that down Jerry’s throat.

Here’s a suggested headline: “Take your sh**ty food and leave!”

Oh! Look what you did there, that’s so clever. Maybe you want to slip in something about the Backstreet Boys or Ricky Martin, or other equally germane pop culture references.
