Palin v. Biden is sure to be high black comedy.
No, Arab comedy according to the Republicans:

“Do you know he has not one shred of African-American blood?” Limbaugh continued: “He’s Arab. You know, he’s from Africa. He’s from Arab parts of Africa. … [H]e’s not African-American. The last thing that he is is African-American.”

If Limbaugh is the voice of all republicans, do you want to consider Charlie Dean, Pelosi, Franken or some other crazy liberal to be the voice of the dems?
You forgot Rangel, Conyers, Biden, Obama, Waters & Carville. That Carville guy is sure a trip though. It is fun to see him go off on a rant. He and Dean could be 2 of the craziest guys on politics on the planet.

Have you seen his Grandmother? She’s obviously a black African. Islam is a religion and not a race after all.

Amazing how these dopes who listen to him just eat it up. My personal view is that it’s much wiser to understand as much as you can about people you consider to be your “enemy”. Know your enemy and know yourself, etc etc.

You’d think more of these guys would be happy, aren’t these they people who are always bitching about lazy minorities living on welfare? You’d almost think that they don’t really want to see anyone who’s not Caucasian to succeed. I know, that’s just crazy and couldn’t possibly be true, coming from the party that ended slavery.

The debate…the thread here, right?

What’s the weigh-in?

I thought Jim Lehrer was the star. Tough questions, all finely executed.
Maybe we can get him to run?

But after that, it was Obama. Succinct, articulate (mostly), poised. Effectively segued into many responses with “Sen. McCain is right about…” before presenting his perspective. Models consensus-building, among other things….

Versus retro-Reagan, Rove-co-opted, rambling elder statesman McCain. The convoluted verbal shambling—is that him, or his handlers’-coaching, hoping that we’ll forget the actual question asked, before he gets to his answer? His offense was very transparent & his defensiveness, frequently obvious.

And they both looked exhausted. How can they not be?
But that’s harder to navigate in your ’70’s.
Not age-ist—just reality.

Immense respect for McCain’s vet history & almost painful to watch him hobble off at the end, imagining his now obvious creakiness is partly a function of having the SH%T beaten out of him, repeatedly, at the Hotel Hanoi.

Still, that’s his version of the “race card” in this campaign. Trucked out frequently, often off-pointedly, especially tonight. Gets very old, really fast.

Palin v. Biden is sure to be high black comedy.
