Looks like the driver of the HPA golf cart hit the lone pole on the corner and then ran into the trash can.
Object fixation?
Or DUI - Dopey Under the Influence?

Ok, old golf carts not working. We need more money for new carts. This time it’s going to be a super-cart. If that doesn’t work, let’s bring back the horses

I think she was hit from behind, and shoved up onto the sidewalk. Hopes she’s OK.
Now who’s going to BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP today to warn people who are going to get ticketed?

Well, being that this intersection is busy and sees a lot of close calls and vehicle vs pedestrian accidents in the past, it’s possible the driver was trying to veer out of the way of someone running across the street.
Hope the guy’s alright. Didn’t see the stretcher the first time.

Wow, seriously? That would suck. Where’s the vehicle that hit her? I don’t see any in the second photo behind the cart, or in the intersection. Hit & Run?

my guess is that the cops got the vehicle out of the intersection. at least, that’d be the smart thing to do. but who knows, coulda been a hit and run….but honestly, how far would you get? the next stoplight?

In light fender benders, the will move vehicles away from heavy traffic.
But in accidents involving a great amount, or especially involving injuries (and then this is a government worker), nothing moves, everything is drawn out, photographed, and heavily investigated.
If the HPA cart driver was hit, I’d say the other driver fled.
Or, if this was a one vehicle accident vs the pole, well…

Someone is going to be on paid medical leave for a little while!!! My guess is in Hoboken they just give you a million dollars

yes, but in cities what I usually see is they come to the scene, assess it quickly, and get the vehicles out of the way of traffic so as to minimize the disruption in rush hour. i’m just giving the benefit of the doubt that’s all. but it’s entirely possible it was a hit and run, i just don’t see how you’d get very far in hoboken fleeing the scene of an accident on washington street at 9am. literally hundreds of people would be witness to it and one of them would catch your plate. it wouldn’t be smart.

I would rather take my chances on foot than ride in one of those little carts.

As long as the driver isn’t injured, this is g d hilarious!

I didn’t see the stretcher either . . . I retract my previous comment and hope that the guy/girl is ok.

Ok here’s what happen. There was a double parked huge truck that was getting out of the girls way, there was another guy in a pickup the two guys where actually arguing with each other as the 2 vehicles were moving the guy in the pick up sped around the huge truck and thats when he hit the paking utility women. She was in the parking lane making her way across the street . The guy in the pick up is totally guilty of making a wrong turn and being in a hurry as usual in this town. The extent of the girls injuries i don’t know , but beleive there might be broken bones in legs and arms maybe one of each. Let’s hope for the best , the girl is a very sweet girl who would’nt hurt a fly. And lets thank GOD that’s all this guy hit it could have been a lot worse, it could have been me or you crossing the street cause it happen right in the intersection. Worse it could have been one of these new mothers with a baby carriage . Which i noticed more of in this town. This is why these people have to slow down when driving. There are a lot of babys in this town.

How many time have any of you seen a double parked vehicle or an impatient driver? To all the folks that think double parking is no big deal, tell that to the woman driving the cart.

but i’m sure he was only double parked for a quick minute or two, so that makes it perfectly OK right?

I’m curious too, but if it is so important to you, why don’t you go out and try to get them.

Hope she’s okay too
Just yesterday, I had the walk light crossing River St and some jackass in an ugly white mercedes was rolling up to me trying to intimidate me while someone (coincidentally in a pickup) blared their horn behind him even though he could clearly see me and two others crossing the street. Way too many aggressive drivers in this town….if cops did their job, they’d roll out a major initiative to crack down on these people so that Hoboken can remain safe to walk around.
