Mason’s latest fliers

8/16/2008:

Have any of you seen these latest fliers from 2nd Ward Councilman Beth Mason?

I personally find them funny. At some point last week, someone accused me of making these! C’mon folks.. please stop with the conspiracy theories! Remember, imitation is a sincere form of flattery!

PS, Good job with the heart, but I would have done a better job with the parachute.

“I have seen seen Crossing Guards put their life on the line
for our kids.(I think one was even hit once) It took years for them to get a raise.”

How much can a crossing guard possibly make? And how does on go about getting this job? My point is that 1 out of every 5 crossing guards in hoboken are worthless. They do more harm than good

I can’t wait for my “golden parachute” after 41 years of working here, and ten more elsewhere, with no benefits at all, and no sick days paid for. I might have to learn to sue
somebody just for bread and milk for my old age.

I have seen seen Crossing Guards put their life on the line
for our kids.(I think one was even hit once) It took years for them to get a raise. It is a crime that they are paid so little -when so many do so little for so much plus big fat pensions.

Dave paid 6K in taxes on his Hudson Street House with lots of improvements when his neighbors were paying over 25k
He did not come in to work until 11am was out before 4 for drinks and never worked on Friday. He has been working part time his whole career so he should get no bennies or pension.
The only time he worked full time was when he was running for office
Harping on someone’s personal finances and where they spend their weekends in the summer seems pretty amatuer-ish, and a little classless, to me. Is Beth claiming she doesn’t take vacations and spends all her leisure time here in Hoboken? I’d be stunned if that was actually the case.
Is Beth responsible for a fiscal trainwreck in a town where she is the highest elected official? No – but Dave Roberts certainly is.

It might be different if he tried to give the slightest impression that he cares one iota about the residents he’s screwed so badly. But all I’ve seen is him trying (pathetically) to shift blame for this fiasco. If he was working overtime to solve the city’s problems, that’d be one thing. But is he? Or is it, “I got paid, screw the rest of you, I’m headed to my mansion at the shore”?

To me, it seems like the latter.
Well, the “internets” are quite new and refreshing for many old-school folks who relied solely on the lovely bird-cage liners for all these years.

To them, the ‘net was “just a fad” that those “crazy yuppies” used.

Additionally, millions of people didn’t realize there were things you could do besides “AOL.”
you mean it’s not just a series of tubes?
