A few years ago I woke up and got rid of my Verizon phone service. Every time I would open the monthly bill I was hit with some new and unexplained charges. One month it would be $100 and the next over $200. I decided to go with Cablevision Optimum voice and have been satisfied ever since. If any of you are still using Verizon for your phone service I would suggest you look into some other provider. Telephone rates for nearly 1 million Verizon Communications Inc. residential customers will increase by more than 83 percent soon!

It may not be much to the basic rate but it is just another charge you shouldn’t have to deal with for the superior service of Verizon. wink, wink.

Here is a small article about the 83% increase in Verizon rates.

Here’s hoping that the cell phone antennas have emergency generators. Then again, I doubt the Hoboken Police Department has any, so who would you call anyway?

I pulled my land line a few years ago also. I love their cell seervice though, I never have a problem with reception.

If you dial 911 it might be routed thru JC anyway- donr keep a landline for that reason.

I have optimum voice, it goes down in blackouts bc the modem is plugged in-but I need it for my front gate.

I got rid of my land line. No reason for one with new cell phone plans.

And in a black out your landline wont work any way, assuming its a cordless phone.
