Memorial Day Weekend 2008

5/22/2008:
The “unofficial” start of Summer is upon us. Today is probably your last full day at work this week.
Do any of you long-time residents remember what Hoboken used to be like during the summer? Parking spots galore, peace and quiet, and a generally “chill” time. I for one, think those days are gone, and Hoboken remains busy all year round now.
This was Memorial Day 2006:
What are your Memorial Day Weekend this year?

Denada. FYI, all holidays you get a pass on street cleaning.

I just walked from the PATH to my apartment way uptown. It is so quiet and peaceful here today. No police sirens chasing double parked cars , no drunks screaming and no neighbor’d dog barking al day.
The last weekend of May means warm sunny weather and the beginning of summer. This is officially my favorite weekend of the year.

It is absolutely incredible out tonight. Just went for dinner and a nice, long walk outside…no drunks, no stooges on the sidewalk…ah, yes…good times.

Yes, much less than usual.
But there was a drunk incident in the building next to the Spa Diner an hour ago. An inebriated tool fell down a flight of stairs.. then started causing trouble. The result? A public intoxication ticket.
Burn on him.
